Dear livejournal, this is the second night in a row of severe insomnia. Yesterday it took me 6 or 7 hours to get to sleep, tonight so far ive been tossing and turning for over 3 hours.... So i get up just now and im horrendously tired the moment i get out of bed. I am sooo freakin miserable i just want to freakin sleep. What gives, I don't usually have THIS much trouble sleeping.

Actually, I completely understand. I have the same damn thing, not always, but for several years now every once in a while it kicks in very badly and I'll end up getting an hour of sleep before doing a ten hour day teaching 8 classes. -_-; I never did find an actual cure, but sometimes staying up and doing something relaxing for a while helps a lot (reading, watching a show or movie for a while). For me, it's somewhat different since I've accepted that every few days/weeks/months I know I'm going to have a really awful night where I can't sleep, so I just try to make the best of it. So yeah, maybe take half an hour or so to relax, read a book or something.

Or you could drink a case of beer, as I am sometimes prone to do. ^^;

I wonder if it's because you're thinking too much while trying to sleep. I find copious amounts of alcohol and sleeping pills can solve that but it might not be an avenue you want to go down.

But it kinda sounds like something physical, not mental...
